​Need and extra room? self contained out-building? or a new house? Shantysea Chalets can meet your needs and be engineered to any size you want.

Of the Chalets Dennis and Murray have planned, built and installed are a variety of sizes. The smallest, 10sqm satisfies the need for an extra room.
The 34sqm is currently used as a motel unit in various places across New Zealand and sleeps 4.

The 50sqm Chalet is also used as a luxury motel unit or art studio, fully fitted out with kitchen and bathroom and sleeps 6 comfortably.

​Some people require specific requirements and Dennis has changed the plans to suit each build.

Other sizes that have been comissioned and may meet your needs also are a 32sqm and approx 25sqm chalet.

Plans have been drawn up for a 150sqm Chalet to meet the needs of a family with all the convieniences you'd expect in a home.

Our key motivation here is to have your new building meet the needs of your specific situation.

The Chalets are professionally engineered structures with a code of compliance from the Western Bay of Plenty District Council.

Dennis and Murray have experience working with Councils across New Zealand to make sure they meet each area's strict criteria.

Please note: Subfloor timbers, 90x45 framing and purlins, insulation, flooring and customwood etc are not included as these items can be purchased at local merchants and this saves you the cost of having them transported.

  • The floor area is 35m2 and the loft area 15m2.
  • The deck is built using 100x35 treated decking timber.

​This chalet is specifically made for the client to have no loft and that the bathroom be through a door at the back wall.

10sqm Chalet (Complete Build)

Specifications

Size: 4.0 x 2.4 Metres. Ideal for the extra room your house might need.
  • The outside dimensions are 4.7 x 2.7 including deck.
  • The floor area is 10m2
  • The deck is built using 100x35 treated decking timber.

​Fully Built 10sqm Chalet Interior comes with

  • Flooring 18mm particle board
  • Wall framing H1.2 75x50 timber
  • Interior walls are 9mm customwood lining
  • All other interior lining is 90x20 sarking
  • Insulation is R1.9 batts.
  • The electrical system includes 3x single P/P's, 1 Internal and 1 external lights
  • The deck is built using 100x35 treated decking timber. Finished in colours of your choice, including carpet and lino and bench top etc.

Fully built 10sqm Chalet Exterior comes with

  • Joinery that is powder coated aluminium.
  • Roof is corrugated coloursteel.
