Shantysea Chalets are professionally engineered structures with a code of compliance from the Western Bay of plenty district council. The interior has;

A standard chalet interior comes with

  • Flooring 18mm particle board
  • Wall framing H1.2 100x50 timber and the interior walls separating the bathroom are 75x50 and 9mm customwood lining including interior end walls.
  • All other interior lining is exposed beams and 140x20 Cypress Lawson sarking
  • Insulation is R1.9 batts.
  • The electrical system includes 5x double P/P's, lights-including security , T.V and telephone outlet, and hot water outlet.
  • The bathroom has a 900x900 shower, vanity, toilet and mirror.
  • The kitchen is furnished with Meltica cabinets and a rolled Edge formica bench top with a 45 litre hot water cylinder or gas as an option.

The Chalet Exterior

  • Standard Size: 4.0 x 7.2 Metres (including deck)
  • The out side dimensions are 7.4 x4.35 including deck.The floor area is 24m2 and the loft area 10m2. Sub floor H3 200x50 timber on 2x (100x150 bearers)
  • The deck is built using 100x35 treated decking timber. Finished in colours of your choice, including carpet and lino and bench top etc.
  • Joinery is powder coated aluminium.
  • Roof is corrugated coloursteel.

Large Size: 4.8x 8.4 Metres (including deck)

  • The out side dimensions are 8.55 x 5.1 metres including deck.The floor area is 35m2 and the loft area 15m2. Sub floor H3 200x50 timber on 2x (100x150 bearers)
  • The deck is built using 100x35 treated decking timber. Finished in colours of your choice, including carpet and lino and bench top etc.
  • Joinery is powder coated aluminium.
  • Roof is corrugated coloursteel.

The Buying Process

Shantysea Chalets aim is to make the buying experience as painless as possible. Once you've chosen to buy the chalet we'd enter into a contract.

This contract is drawn up by a local lawyer. At this point you pay the 33% deposit. Then from now on as we finish each stage detailed below the money to be transferred and in turn release the funds to Shantysea chalets.

As for the contract, the payment schedule will be itemised down to the very last detail, so it's completely transparent. The typical stage payments Chalet Construction would work to are as follows:

1) Deposit payable at time of signing contract (33%)
2) Completion of Roof (33%)
3) Completion of Chalet (33%)

Shantysea Chalets is a New Zealand company located in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty and is run by two Kiwi builders, Murray Kenyon and Dennis Webster.

It was set up to help people buy or build affordable and relocatable chalets in New Zealand. These chalets can be either bought in kitset form or built on site as per your requirements. These Chalets are built to a a high standard and will meet the required regulations and codes within New Zealand.
